Summer stuff
It's the summer holidays, and it's far from the rather lazily spent, sitting-at-home-half-the-time kind of holiday I'd imagined o_o; I wanted to get a job, but didn't really manage... it's not too bad though, because I had savings from last year's job, I'm doing occasional things for my mum's company, and I sold all my NANA manga... *sniff* I think I'll have to sell some more Jp manga though :(
Apart from that, I don't even NEED money that badly any more!!! And that is because I got the JASSO (Japan Student Service Organisation) scholarship for the year in Japan!!! ^o^ Which means I'll have enough money to not starve and maybe even have a bit of fun XD YAY! *^___^* My exam grades were fine too! I got a First in Japanese and Classical Japanese, and a 2-1 in Jp. Culture... I was ONE mark off a 1st there!!! SO ANNOYING. Ahhem anyway. I also PASSED ANTHROPOLOGY (with a shit overall mark of 52%, but still XD) so now I can really relax and FORGET about that horrible subject for the rest of my life! :D I'm reading a book in Japanese now to get used to reading fast and generally pick up vocab, actually. It was a right pain to read the first 70~ pages, because it really didn't seem to have much of a story, but then it picked up the pace, and I'm enjoying it now... not that it's got much more happening, but it's interesting nonetheless. It's a narrative by a woman who now lives a peaceful, quiet life with her American boyfriend, but is troubled by the memories of her previous passionate relationship with a Japanese man~ at this point, we don't know why they broke up, but her past life is slowly unfolding as she remembers things, and it's kind of gripping. Or maybe I just have a weird taste in books ^^; In a little less than 2 weeks, I'm going to Croatia for 5 days with Ami, Viki, my mum and my grandma! ^__^ Wahhh I'm really looking forward to it *o* I just hope my grandma won't be ill or anything @_@; Andandand... Eveline is coming on August 8-15! :D We're going to a Japanese music party on the 10th, can't wait ^o^ I hope she won't be too bored there though ._.; I have to make the Dharma deadline by August 20th though... not sure I can... :( I'm trying to draw, but there's too little time, too long a story I want to tell, and squishing even a part of it into such a small number of pages kind of takes away from the quality of the story, I think :/ Maa I guess I'm not good enough anyway. I'd like to finish though, whatever the outcome~ 1 comments |
